Getting Results For Your Clients-Here’s How


How many times have you been in a debate with a fellow trainer about what training modality or nutrition program is better, faster and more effective at getting results for our clients?


If you are like most trainers, then probably a lot. Either that or you are still looking yourself.


Hi, Jeff Sherman here, and in this blog post I am going to teach you how to get your clients better and faster results and it has nothing to do with your current workout or nutrition programs.


In fact, I have read studies that show that most (up to 90% of) workout programs and nutrition programs out there, if done consistently, will give your clients results.


The problem with most workout or nutrition programs are that they are either too complicated or too hard to keep following on a consistent basis..


That is where we come in…


It is our job to take away as many obstacles as possible and make it easy for our clients to consistently comply with our programs. Because we all know, that if they would just do what we tell them to, they would get amazing results!


Here are 3 ways that I do that:


 I offer 8 different boot camp sessions a day so it can easily fit into everyone’s schedule. My clients can come in anytime we offer boot camp without having to schedule their sessions.


I include an accountability program where we monitor their weight and body fat % on a weekly basis. We guarantee that they will never have more than a bad week! If they fall off track we will follow up with them within 2 days and schedule a follow up consultation.


I also include unlimited follow up and nutrition consultations. The only requirement is that they log their meals and exercise for 3-4 days and bring that in with them.


After that it comes down to one thing… That’s mindset.


Most people come into our programs already defeated! They have tried multiple times to lose weight or get back in shape. They hang on for a few weeks or months and then either fall off the wagon or quit for whatever reason.


The first thing most clients say when they come into my office is “I know what I should be doing, but for some reason I just can’t!”


So what that tells me is that they don’t want more information on how to do it, they want to know how to make themselves do what they know they should be doing.


I believe that the information age is over. Information is losing its value. If you want a new workout, or healthy recipes, just look at your Facebook wall or YouTube and you will find more than enough!


We are now in the Transformation Age… We have to transform the way our clients look at fitness, health and nutrition.


We need to be more generous by giving more of ourselves. We can do that by sharing our stories and letting them know that we are human and struggle with the same things they do.


Show them how we deal with the same obstacles that they face and change their perspective on health and fitness.


We need to raise their ambitions and let them know that we believe in them more then they believe in themselves.


We see people change and transform their lives on a daily basis, so it’s easy for us to say that. They have tried multiple times and failed, so they have no reason to believe that this time will be different.


I love when a client says “It would be nice to lose X amount of pounds or ideally I would like to get back to a size X…”


This is the perfect opportunity to stop them right there and tell them that it’s not going to happen! The look on their face when you say that is priceless. Then you go right into letting them know we need to recondition the way you think and feel about fitness and weight loss.


If you don’t believe that it’s going to happen then no matter how good our program is, it’s not going to work for you. But not to worry because we have systems in place to change your mindset and once we do you will never have to worry about fitness or weight loss again.


Here are the some key points I highlight for them to let them know how we are different then just a group fitness program. I let them know that I am not passionate about just giving people great workouts and that that’s only 10% of what I do.  I tell them I am in the lifestyle change and transformation business.


And here is how we do that:

  1. We offer unlimited goal setting, follow up, and nutrition consultations.
  2. We have an accountability program that guarantees that they won’t fall off track for more than a week.
  3. We offer close to 50 sessions every week for them to choose from.
  4. We offer group nutrition seminars.
  5. We have a running group.
  6. We run transformation contest and team challenges.
  7. We frequently do things as a community outside of boot camp.
  8. We give back to the community by running charity boot camps.
  9. And last but certainly not least, we guarantee results!


I tell them that they are not joining another program; they are joining a family or a community. Big, Big difference there.


A lot of trainers ask me how I facilitate all of this without working myself to death and getting burnt out.


The answer is that I have systems for all of that stuff that keeps it running on autopilot.


Last year, my friend Justin Blum and myself, ran an online  boot camp systems workshop teaching every single system we used in our boot camps. It was a huge success and we got a lot of great feed back on it.


The only thing wrong with the old way of doing things is that some of it was a little time consuming. So for the past year I have been working on creating a software program that will facilitate all of that for you on autopilot.
