How to Banish Cardio Forever in Bootcamps
There’s a new sheriff in town that’s spreading like a wildfire and being used by the best coaches in the world with their clients.
Back in the 80’s and well into the 90’s, trainers would take their clients through a grueling strength training session followed by some long, boring cardio because you know… that was the thing to do.
We didn’t know any better.
Then in the late 90’s and 2000’s, coaches and trainers got smarter and started using interval training to replace that long, boring cardio with interval training, which took a fraction of the time. The results were even better, and it was a win for the client as they only had to spend 20-25 minutes doing intervals, compared to 60 minutes of monotonous cardio.
But that was so 2000’s. Today’s hot, NEW method is using metabolic workout finishers to replace cardio, even intervals.
And… finishers just take a fraction of the time that even intervals take… as in the average of 5 minutes.
That’s why I’ve been using finishers with my 1-on-1 clients for so long. But where I failed was not using them with my bootcamps.
So, I took my best finishers that my clients raved about and bootcampitized them (it’s a word – look it up). Obviously, you have campers with different fitness levels, so the finisher has to be somewhat generalized, but yet challenging enough for beginners as well as advanced folks.
That’s why the density method works so well, just like the finisher below, found in the Bootcamp Finishers manual…
The Deuce is Loose Again Bootcamp Finisher
Do the following circuit as many times as possible in 5 minutes. Tell your campers to simply rest as needed, but the clock will continue to tick…
1A) Burpee/X-Body Mountain Climber Combo (2)
1B) Bulgarian Split Squat (1-1/2 rep style) (2/side)
1C) Elevated Pushups (2/side)
1D) Jump Squats (2)
1E) Skater Hops (2/side)
Ridiculous…. but ridiculously fun.
Here’s what happened with my campers, and what will happen with your campers, too…. Your campers will get addicted to working out again because they love the grand finale challenge at the end of each workout.
And when your campers are addicted to working out, your campers will come back for more and more. Sure, you can go through your same workouts… no big deal.
But when you bring a fresh, new finisher after every workout – they will love the variety, especially some of the partner challenges inside the Bootcamp Finishers manual.
That’s how you banish cardio forever from your bootcamp, including intervals. It’s also the easiest referral magnet you’ll ever use.
I should know… referrals were 98% of my business.
So, take cardio (even intervals) and punch it in the face. Then use this hot, NEW method to end your bootcamp workouts with an epic grand finale that your campers will never forget.
