3 Profitable & Easy Tips For Adding Nutrition Into Your Bootcamps

3 Profitable & Easy Tips For Adding Nutrition Into Your Bootcamps

What should I eat?

What’s the best protein powder and do I even need protein powder?

Can I have flavored yogurt? What kind is best?

Is it okay to eat fruit at night? What about carbs? Can I have carbs?

Have you ever been asked these questions before in your fitness business or bootcamp? I bet you get food and nutrition questions all the time.

Do you ever feel like you are repeating yourself over and over again? How do you answer the questions about nutrition philosophies you don’t believe in? Those are tough.

The common denominator between all of your clients is that they want to lose weight, lean out, tone up or improve their health AND they all have questions about food and nutrition.

Right?

Click here to get instant access to a 3-part video training series teaching you how to create your own 6 or 12-week nutrition and weight loss program.

The thing is that if you are positioning yourself as the leader, as the expert who facilitates complete body transformations then you have to know how to answer nutrition questions. And you should also be taking your business one step further by providing a complete one-stop health shop that includes a whole foods based nutrition program.

I know you don’t need to be reminded that obesity rates in our country are not improving. More than one third of U.S. adults are classified as obese (not just overweight) reports the CDC.

In fact, one study estimates that one in three children born in the year 2000 will at some point in their lives develop diabetes (Narayan et al., 2003). In addition, cardiovascular disease is the leading killer in the U.S., responsible for nearly 600,000 deaths each year (Hoyert and Xu, 2013).

Your clients are looking for sustainable, long-term nutrition habits that enable them to lose weight and keep it off without feeling deprived and socially restricted. Plus weight loss dollars walk right out your front door every time a member asks you a nutrition question and you don’t have a program to offer them.

Over the last 7 years I’ve implemented the WOW! Weight Loss System in fitness centers, wellness clinics, yoga studios and spa’s with great success because we follow a system and use direct response marketing strategies. We always include the following 3 tips to ensure that the program is providing a great deal of value and working towards the big picture goals of the business.

Tip # 1: Weekly Nutrition E-Newsletter

This is simple and a huge value added benefit for your members. Everyone loves food tips and recipes. In fact, recipes are amongst some of the most viral content shared on social media.

Every Friday you can send your members an email sharing 3-5 food and nutrition tips along with a recipe. You can pull recipes from popular blogs and websites on the internet as long as you source the creator of the recipe.

Providing this type of value rich content accumulates good will and allows you to market your upcoming services, promotions and free seminars.

Tip # 2: Monthly Nutrition Webinars

This is a new twist to the old school free seminar that most fitness businesses offer. Webinars are trendy and provide greater accessibility to a larger segment of your community. Webinars might sound like a lot of work but not if you facilitate them with guest speakers.

There are so many wellness professionals within your community who all want to share their passion. All you have to do is round up 12 nutrition based guest speakers and let them each run one webinar per month. You are the host presenting Jane the Nutritionist.

This way Jane the Nutritionist will also promote her guest spot to her list and following.  Since you will have an email sign up form to register for the webinars this is also a great way to grow your email list.

Tip # 3: Jump Start Program

Changing nutrition habits is much harder than committing to exercise 2 to 3 times per week. Clients like the idea of short-term programs that yield big results. Having a 21-day or 28-day nutrition and weight loss jumpstart program is key.

Your jumpstart program can be completely automated online or run live in person. Having clients run through a short-term program allows you to get them some quick results and set the stage for converting them into longer-term, higher-paying clients.

Adding in nutrition services to your fitness club or bootcamp only serves to position you as the leader in your community. Creating a one-stop health shop is easy when you have the right programs and systems in place. Learn more about how to implement turn-key nutrition programs HERE.
