The Truth Behind Hardcore Workouts
Mike Whitfield, CTT and Co-Author Hardcore Finishers
They are all over the place and they are flooding Facebook, Twitter and everywhere else. There are pictures of people doing (or at least the illusion) of doing dozens of burpees and prowler pushes… making it look like they have done it for an hour.
It’s the same thing when someone posts on Facebook, “Heck yeah. I just completed intervals for an hour.”
No. No, you didn’t.
You are now taking away the quality and filling it in with quantity.
Quantity doesn’t equal results. Quality does, and you already know that.
However, when you add a grueling and challenging hardcore finisher to your workout, you’ll get results, but the intensity has to be there.
What kind of intensity? Only a video can explain it…
Now, don’t think you have to do that for 60 minutes to get results. No way. Your body wouldn’t be able to put in that kind of effort for that long. But when you grind out a grand finale (aka hardcore finisher) to your favorite workout with the right intensity, you’ll be blown away at what it does for you physically, but more importantly, mentally.
The unique twist to these hardcore finishers that Travis Stoetzel and I have used with thousands of offline and online clients with is that you can even use these as short workouts when you don’t have time to put in a full workout.
But I must warn you… just because they are shorter, doesn’t mean they are easier. For example, let’s take a look at this hardcore finisher…
Finisher # 12 from the Hardcore Finishers Manual
The “Hardcore 250”
Do the following circuit one time, resting only when needed. Time yourself. The next time you perform this finisher, try to beat your previous time.
Burpee/Pullup Combo (10)
Narrow Stance Goblet Squat (30)
Renegade Pushups (30)
Burpee Chinup Combo (10)
Goblet Walking Lunges (20/side)
Mountain Climbers (15/side)
Jumping Jacks (100)
That’s how you can chisel lean, athletic muscle and burn fat at the same time in just a short time. It sure does beat boring cardio… and yeah, even intervals.
Don’t have a pullup bar? No problem… just substitute those for regular burpees. Now you don’t have any excuses for missing your workouts… even on a tight schedule.
Use these raw, short and powerful workout grand finales with your favorite workouts, or even as off day challenges. They are just long enough for you to sustain the chaos and intensity and then you’re toast.
That’s the truth behind hardcore workouts… or better yet… hardcore finishers.
Chisel away with the truth behind hardcore workouts,
